The Other Syllabus I had the lab science the ecology  of texts   and language  of the pages I like it all as my joy spilled with the test tube disasters and the teachers harmless roar like a trapped mouse than .I left the lab , vomited from the lab syllabus The streets ,they had me also A scuffle followed :the other  syllabus Bosses frowned at my heat lab qualification only to declare them rabble Then l pocketed them now a wounded lion l crawled through streets Streets that yawn in my face like starved ghosts turned bitter than a sick rat l gnawed at the remains of this civilisation that rots My comfort then lay in the rat-hole where husband ,wife ,child , pot ,fire , Mealie-meal share the same met and only mother’s empty nipple soothes  the starved gums of children who lie like discarded biltong in this raid of slain dreams BY CHENJERAI HOVE PUBLISHED  BY SAM NYAMUZIWA

These so called friends

THESE SO CALLED FRIENDS By Florence Chikumba U6A, Royal College The pain caused by a friendship marred is not easy to overcome. These so called friends have let me down. We all have certain expectations of our friendship, and when they fall short we feel betrayed. You are my best friend but I don’t know you anymore. It hurts so badly when I think of what you have done, you never invited me, you never ring or call. Rather you have shut me out and lost the key to the door. I think that just says it all. In my awful dark despair I really thought you would care a note, an apology or even a hi, but you were too mean to use any of these powers. You carried on, it did not matter, but you had left me alone. To lie and cover up, I accepted slighted, forgotten and disliked and still I would be kind and gentle even under provocation. I don’t think I needed to explain, I have fought enough for us and its now up to you, I no longer have strength. But my question is why? I guess such is l

Precious soul. ( poem )

Precious Soul By  Phoebe Nyashanu U6 Westridge high, 2015 Precious dove Spread your broken little wins And heal. Keep walking on your fragile little bird feet To the edge of the cliff. Take off, fly, soar. Let your calls punctuate the silence of grief To remove the pain and replace it With hope. Let me look up and see you decorate the skies With your snow white feather And your gracious glide. Give me peace from seeing you Free. Free from the scrutiny of the world, Free from the pain of bondage. Precious heart You may not understand now But love exists in the world But you must give it The pain of your sorrow echoes in Your soul But you cannot let it destroy you You cannot let them win Because you are the Conqueror, the Subjugator, the Victor Precious Soul I know you’ve been hurt before but Assemble your million broken Pieces And let them shine a million rays Of hope On the hearts you meet The lives

Achieving greatness

Be smart in your pursuit for greatness By Milton Kamwendo Edited by Mr Nyandolo Goals are seeds of greatness. Faith feeds on specific stimulating goals. Wherever goals and log frames are talked about there is always a mention of “SMART” goal setting. The goals must be specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time-bound. Summon all the help you can get to move towards your goals. Challenge your limits. Do not park where fate left you. You need to be smart. To be great in your chosen arena, set SMART goals. These are: Stimulating, Meaningful, Activating, Responsible and Tenacious goals. Goals are a journey that requires you to be tenacious. Do not give up nor fear. Keep focus and never lose sight of your end game. STIMULATING It is not enough to just express wishes and clever intentions. Go beyond that. Crystallize your goals for them to have a meaning. It is not enough to set some New Year or birthday resolutions. Those are important and necessary but not sufficient

Concert of Europe: Advanced level history

Image
Edited by Mr Nyandolo Questions and Answers: Concert of Europe 1. "Its merits outweighed its defects." Discuss this verdict upon the Treaty of Vienna. The principal defects of the Treaty of Vienna wee four.  First it ignored national feeling for unity in Germany and Italy, and other peoples under the rule of States which they opposed.  Secondly it operated to discourage constitutional government in Europe.  Thirdly, it was a settlement characterised by a cynical disregard for the interest of the small States by the Great Powers who dominated the Congress.  Lastly, the settlement produced at Vienna failed to survive- a measure of its failure to solve the problems of Europe. By the treaty Germany remained, like Italy, "a geographical expression".  It consisted of thirty-nine separate States; and although these were organised in the Germanic Confederation; it posed no unifying power being dominated by Austria and Prussia, whose interests were to prevent a uni
